Artificial intelligence company OpenAI said it has started training its new AI model that will power the popular chatbot ChatGPT.

In a statement posted on its website, OpenAI said the new model, which would replace GPT-4 technology, would bring the company closer to "AGI," or artificial general intelligence, a highly controversial idea that refers to computers matching the power of human brains.
